About:

On Monday the 15th of June, the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition will begin. The prestigious Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host the Grand Opening Concert, at which the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra will be accompanied by some of the best contemporary Russian musicians under the baton of Vladimir Fedoseyev. At this special concert, performances will come from pianist Daniil Trifonov (1st prize and Grand Prix of XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011), as well as young prodigies Alexander Malofeev (pianist, Gold Medal VIII International Tchaikovsky Competition for young musicians in 2014 ) and Georgy Ibatulin (violinist, winner of the XV International Competition Televised Nutcracker for Young Musicians). Along side them, mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina - a soloist at the Mariinsky theatre and jury member - will perform. Vladimir Fedoseyev's beautiful programme, dedicated to this composer will commemorate the 175th anniversary of Tchaikovsky's birth.
