About

Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 is one of the composer's most popular piano concerti. Its Adagio alone is one of the best-loved scores in the classical music repertoire. Mozart wrote it when he was only 30, living in Vienna, and composing at the same time Le Nozze di Figaro.

The pianists competing at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition must perform, during the second round of the Competition, one of the seven piano concerti written by Mozart and selected by the Competition.

Movements:

  • Allegro
  • Adagio
  • Allegro assai
